Expo 2025 tackles global challenges with global dialogue through eight Theme Weeks

Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan will feature eight themed weeks tackling major global challenges such as climate change, mobility, and digital transformation. Each week will focus on a specific topic to encourage both public engagement and policy-level dialogue. The first theme, “Co-creating Cultures for the Future,” emphasizes cultural heritage and features the Grand Ring, a 2-kilometer wooden structure. Cultural diplomacy is highlighted with manga, anime, and cosplay events, including participation from Japan’s “Cool Japan” officials. Another theme week explores smart cities, mobility, and disaster recovery, with experts discussing how innovation and community acceptance can work together. The Expo will also include sessions on artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, aiming to connect policy, culture, and technology in a meaningful way.
